Job summary

Memorial Hermann Katy seeks a Medical Technologist or MLT to join our team for a part-time night position. The schedule is Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

The role is benefits eligible and focuses on performing various laboratory tests and procedures as assigned. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in biological science and professional certification (ASCP/AMT/CLS/MLS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science; equivalency accepted for foreign education.
• Medical Technologist (ASCP) or MT (AMT) certification; MLS/CLS (ASCP) certifications also acceptable.
• NAACLS MLS program completion within last 5 years; or MLT (ASCP) with 2+ years lab experience; or CLA (ASCP) with degree and 4+ years experience; or 5+ years of lab experience within last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results and quality control per policy.
• Maintains daily lab operations including processing and reporting results.
• Directs personnel and assists with sample collection as needed.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, FDA, CAP, CLIA).
• Promotes patient safety, quality care, and efficient laboratory service.
• Mentors less experienced staff and supports ongoing education.
