Job summary

Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital is seeking a PRN Medical Technologist or MLT to join our lab team on a supplemental, weekend-based schedule. The role involves performing a range of laboratory tests, documenting results, and ensuring quality and safety in patient care.

Qualified candidates will have a biological sciences degree, MLS/MLT certifications, and substantial clinical laboratory experience in key disciplines. This PRN role supports lab operations and patient testing needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biological science; MLS program completed per NAACLS.
MLT(ASCP) certification with two years of full-time lab experience in relevant areas.
CLA (ASCP) certification and biology degree with 4+ years lab experience.
Five years of full-time clinical laboratory experience in core areas.

Responsibilities

Performs and documents test results, QC, maintenance and corrective actions per policy.
Manages daily lab operations including collections, processing, results reporting and clerical duties.
Interacts with staff, physicians and patients regarding specimens and results.
Ensures compliance with CLIA, CAP, TJC, FDA and other regulatory standards.
Promotes safety, efficiency, and ongoing professional development.
