Job summary

Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital seeks a supplemental Medical Technologist or MLT to join our team for a combination of Evening and Overnight shifts.

Position responsibilities include performing and overseeing laboratory tests, quality control, and results reporting while ensuring safety and adherence to policies. This role requires relevant MLS/MLT certifications or eligibility and a biology degree with NAACLS MLS program exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science (Equivalency for foreign education)
• Licenses/Certifications include Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International), Certified CLS (ASCP), CM ASCP Certification Eligible
• Bachelor’s degree in biological science AND successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program within the last 5 years; or MLT(ASCP) with required lab experience; or CLA(ASCP) with relevant experience; or five years of full-time clinical lab experience in relevant areas

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results, quality control, and maintenance procedures according to policy.
• Manages daily lab operations including collections, sample processing, results reporting, and personnel direction as appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies and standards set by governmental and accrediting agencies.
• Provides safe, compassionate care and supports quality, efficiency, and PI process.
