Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Technologist for High Point Medical Center Lab in High Point, NC. The position performs and reports accurate lab test results, assists in specimen collection, and ensures safe handling of hazardous materials during a 7 on/7 off night shift (8:00 PM–6:30 AM).

This is a full-time opportunity with benefits. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with NAACLS MT training or 5 years of clinical lab experience (or 2 years with MLT certification) and MT ASCP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and NAACLS MT program, five years' clinical lab experience, or two years' clinical lab experience with MLT certification.
• MT ASCP certification required.
• Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and provides accurate laboratory test results on human patients.
• Prepares and issues blood components for patient transfusions.
• Assists in the collection and transport of patient samples from the clinics to laboratory sections.
• Handles hazardous materials in accordance with regulations to ensure safe working environment.
• Requisitions and maintains inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment as needed for laboratory operations.
• Supervises, trains, and reviews the work of students and lower-level technicians engaged in clinical laboratory work.
• Operates complex specialized laboratory instruments; instructs other personnel in the use and operations of these instruments.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
