Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist or MLT to join the laboratory team on a supplemental basis. The position is scheduled for night shift and involves performing and supervising a variety of lab tests and procedures.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Medical Technology or Lab Science, with high-complexity testing experience. Certification eligibility (ASCP/AMT) within one year is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Technology or Laboratory Science with clinical training.
• Experience in high-complexity testing is required.
• Eligible for Medical Lab Technician certification within one year of employment (ASCP/AMT).

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance procedures and corrective actions.
• Manages daily lab operations including collections, processing, reporting, and clerical duties.
• Interacts with hospital staff, physicians and patients regarding specimens and results.
• Complies with policies and standards set by laboratory services and accrediting agencies.
• Promotes safety, cost efficiency and participation in PI processes.
• Gains knowledge of system computers as required by assignment.

Education

Associate Degree in Medical Technology (Equivalency Required for Foreign Education)
