Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s OptumCare seeks a Night Shift Medical Technologist II in Lab Services at Kelsey Seybold Clinic, North Houston. The role focuses on accurate specimen analysis, quality control, and timely reporting to support patient care in a busy multidisciplinary lab.

You’ll work under supervision to ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA and maintain excellent communication with staff and clinicians. The position offers competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related science or Associate degree for Technician candidates.
• ASCP eligible.
• 4+ years of clinical laboratory testing.
• Knowledge of Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Coagulation and Urinalysis.
• Knowledge of CAP and CLIA regulations.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven time management and ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and accurate analysis of specimens in the clinical laboratory.
• Ensure quality patient care and reliable test results.
• Use critical thinking for day-to-day lab operations and issue resolution.
• Support teamwork and maintain compliance with lab procedures.
