Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is hiring a Laboratory Technologist Generalist for the night shift (11 p.m.–7 a.m.). The role covers up to four areas of the laboratory (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Bank) with competency requirements across multiple areas and adherence to CAP, DNV, and CLIA standards.

This position involves caring for adolescent to geriatric patients and maintaining rigorous quality records.

Qualifications

• Licensure or certifications required: ASCP, NCA, or AMT; meets Georgia requirements.
• Educational requirement: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field.
• Experience: multiple pathways described for lab technologist qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Completes routine and stat testing according to policy and timeframes.
• Performs analyses independently per established criteria.
• Maintains lab records and data entry in computer system.
• Calibrates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Communicates questionable results to supervisor/pathologist.
• Supports other lab areas as needed to process specimens.
