Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for Cobb Medical Center on the night shift. The role requires performing clinical laboratory testing under supervision, serving as Generalist or SME in lab areas, and maintaining accuracy and quality across tests.

Candidates must have MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent and at least 3 years of lab experience. The position includes responsibilities in general lab, blood bank, and related QA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology, Health Science, or General field is required.
• All certifications listed must be obtained at hire.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
• Computer/data entry experience required.
• Ability to communicate with the healthcare team.
• Ability to use Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blood and body fluids for ordered diagnostic tests in General lab, Blood Bank, or Microbiology.
• Perform routine testing in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, chemistry, manual chemistry, blood bank and microbiology.
• Maintain logs for quality control and safety, track workload and activity.
• Communicate test results and information to team per policy and procedure.
