The Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Medical Technologist I for weekend premium service in Fort Wayne, IN. The role performs routine and specialized tests on blood and body fluids and supports patient care with timely results.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, quality control, and collaboration with healthcare staff. Requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology and 0–2 years of acute care experience; shifts include Friday–Sunday nights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Passing score on Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0–2 years of acute care laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and documents results.
• Performs instrument checks and preventative maintenance per policy.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Follows safety regulations and uses PPE as required.
• Communicates results and issues with healthcare staff promptly.
• Assists with proficiency testing and accreditation data collection.
• Collects urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy as needed.
