Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Medical Technologist I for the weekend premium role, performing routine and high complexity tests on blood and body fluids during nights.

You will work Friday through Sunday, 6:30pm to 7:00am, with 36 hours, ensuring accurate results, adhering to QC protocols, and assisting in data collection for regulatory compliance.

Team collaboration is essential as you support patient care needs and contribute to ongoing instrument maintenance and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS.
• 0–2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity tests accurately and efficiently with timely results and documentation.
• Maintains quality control procedures and required checks.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Communicates updates on unusual results and quality issues to staff and supervisors.
• Supports proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
