Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Laboratory position for PRN night shifts. This role supports pre-analytical and analytical laboratory tasks, maintains equipment, and participates in quality and safety initiatives within a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in a laboratory field, strong English communication, and solid computer skills. Experience with lab safety, data entry, and education of staff is preferred, with opportunities for growth and

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology with CLIA-related equivalency as applicable
• Ability to follow safety policies and professional guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to educate/train staff and work with clinical teams
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, and basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies including PPE use and hazardous waste handling
• Participate in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities
• Evaluate new laboratory techniques and procedures with data collection support
• Maintain laboratory equipment and spaces through cleaning and disinfection
• Support education of clinical staff and coordinate workflow as needed
• Perform pre-analytical activities including specimen collection and equipment checks
• Conduct post-analytical activities such as reporting results and technical support
• Complete tests accurately following SOPs and participate in proficiency testing
