Job summary

Trinity Health Livingston - Brighton is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist for the night shift (9:00 PM – 7:30 AM). The role involves recording results, reporting stat findings, ensuring quality control, and communicating with clinical staff to ensure accurate, timely lab reporting.

Must have a laboratory science degree (MLS/MT/MLS/MLT) and be eligible to work in the U.S. ASCP/NCLS certification is preferred. Benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in science with relevant lab experience may be considered.
• Proof of educational transcripts must be submitted at time of application.
• Relevant work experience required if MLS/MT degree not obtained.
• Certification/licensure such as MT/MLT/MLS or NCLS preferred.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship is required.

Responsibilities

• Record and/or enter laboratory results and flag abnormal results to supervisor.
• Report stat and highly abnormal results promptly per policies.
• Compare results with previous patient data and flag unusual fluctuations.
• Perform quality control, calibrate and maintain lab equipment.
• Notify staff of problems like unsuitable specimens or equipment malfunctions.
• Prepare standards, reagents, and testing materials.
• Coordinate with nursing units for result clarification and queries.

Education

Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science

Bachelor’s degree in science with relevant work experience

ASCP/MLT/MLS/NCLS certification preferred
