Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology preferred, or BS/BA in Biology or Chemistry, or Associate degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
• Eligibility for MT/MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, or another recognized organization
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred, including high-complexity testing where applicable
• Knowledge of laboratory QC/QA and laboratory operations
• Strong computer skills and ability to work across multiple systems
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with commitment to patient confidentiality
• Ability to meet compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen handling, processing, analysis, and result reporting according to established laboratory procedures
• Review, validate, and release patient test results accurately and efficiently
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, and safety protocols in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory standards
• Troubleshoot testing issues, document corrective actions, and elevate concerns when necessary
• Maintain testing records, instrument calibrations, maintenance logs, and proficiency testing documentation
• Communicate STAT and critical results according to department procedures
• Participate in training, educational meetings, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
