Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry qualifying the applicant to take the certification examination.
• Minimum internship experience: 1 year in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens according to protocols.
• Reports results in a timely manner per procedures.
• Follows quality control procedures and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Performs maintenance and calibration of instruments as needed.
• Troubleshoots instruments and reagents; notifies supervisor if unresolved.
• Adheres to universal precautions and safety procedures to minimize exposure to infectious materials.
• Relieves in higher classification when requested; attends required safety trainings.
