Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to perform routine and complex tests in a high-volume hospital laboratory. You will work on a night shift, with duties spanning specimen processing, calibration, quality control, and rapid reporting of results to clinicians.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in a laboratory science and have experience with clinical laboratory procedures. ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• MLT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Experience with clinical laboratory procedures and data recording.
• Ability to endure heavy workload and stress.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests across departments.
• Assess specimen acceptability and maintain specimen integrity.
• Set up and maintain lab equipment; perform calibration and maintenance as required.
• Ensure accurate test results and timely communication of significant findings.
• Maintain required records to comply with regulatory standards.
