Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technician for Bedford Hospital. You will assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens, maintain quality records, and operate hematology and chemistry analyzers.

Some phlebotomy is a plus, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to SOPs. The role requires a related science degree (bachelor’s preferred, associate with certification acceptable) and relevant lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related science (Certification not required).
• Associate degree in an approved Medical Laboratory Technician Program or a Medical Laboratory Specialist certification from a military program (50 weeks).
• Associate degree requires certification within 12 months (NCA, AMT, ASCP, HEW, or CLA).
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens.
• Maintain records of performance and quality control.
• Operate hematology/chemistry analyzers and participate in troubleshooting.
