Job summary

Lexington Medical Center Laboratory in Lexington is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for full-time night shift (Tuesday-Friday, 9pm-7am). 40 hours weekly with benefits eligible. Licensure as MLT (ASCP) required; NAACLS program preferred.

Associate degree preferred with prior MLT experience encouraged. Responsibilities include ensuring timely and accurate test results, following QC/QA procedures, maintaining safety standards, and communicating effectively within the lab team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician preferred.
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent certification required.
• Successful completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and ensures accuracy and timeliness of patient lab test results.
• Performs procedures efficiently within documented procedures and required turnaround time.
• Follows QC/QA procedures to maintain test result quality.
• Communicates results and issues clearly to the lab team and supervisor.
• Ensures safety and compliance with PPE and hospital policies.
• Maintains patient identifiers and specimen handling integrity.
