Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for the full-time night shift. The MLT will perform diagnostic testing, maintain records, and support quality control in a modern acute-care laboratory.

Qualified candidates will hold an AS of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology and be certified or eligible as an MLT (AMT, ASCP, or NCA). English communication skills are required, with a willingness to work in a high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Certification as MLT (AMT, ASCP, or NCA) required or program-completion evidence.
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory records and quality control documentation.
• Follow policies/procedures and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples and report results.
• Carry out instrument maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Ensure adequate supplies and reagents are available for testing.
