Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for 1 West, a 36-bed unit focusing on cardiac, stroke and high-acuity medical patients. This 36-hour night-shift role offers three 12-hour shifts per week with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualified candidates will hold Maine RN licensure or be able to obtain it promptly; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Competitive pay and a robust benefits package accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Maine state licensure as an RN or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
• New Graduate RNs are encouraged to apply.
• Night shift work on a 36-hour schedule (7p–7a) with weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
