Job summary

MaineGeneral Health on 3 West is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Surgical/Post-Operative unit. This 36-bed unit focuses on post-surgical and high-acuity patients, offering a fast-paced environment and collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team.

The position is 24 hours per week on the night shift (7p-7a), with two 2-hour shifts per week and weekend/holiday rotation. You will plan, implement and evaluate care, coordinate transfers, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• MaineGeneral Health state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
• New graduate RNs are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept students and new hires.
