Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, Maine, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Inpatient Med Surg unit. The RN will provide direct patient care on 1 West, a 36-bed unit focusing on cardiac, stroke, and high-acuity medical patients. This 30-hour night-shift position offers three 12-hour shifts one week and two the next, with weekend/holiday rotation.

In addition to a competitive benefits package, the role includes an early acceptance incentive up to $4,000 for nursing students who apply early.

Qualifications

• Maine state RN licensure is required or must be obtainable in a timely manner.
• Night shift availability required for the 7p–7a schedule.
• 30 hours per week on a 3/2 rotation with weekend/holiday rotations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial needs.
• Educate patient and family according to age and condition.
• Delegate patient care to ancillary staff; may precept students or new hires.
