Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, ME is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join 2 West. The 2 West unit is a 36-bed med/surg unit with Oncology patients; the role is a 24-hour night position (7p–7a) requiring two 12-hour shifts per week with weekend and holiday rotation.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate care plans, monitor patient condition, coordinate across disciplines, provide education to patients and families, and may precept students or new hires.

Qualifications

• Maine state licensure as RN required or ability to obtain quickly.
• At least 1 year of RN experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply.
• Med/Surg experience and Oncology setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on assessment.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Coordinates care across disciplines including transfer, discharge, and referrals.
• Provides patient/family education tailored to age and culture.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
