Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 1 West med/surg unit, a 36-bed area focusing on cardiac, stroke, and higher-acuity medical patients. This 36-hour night shift (7p-7a) includes three 12-hour shifts weekly with weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Maine state RN licensure or ability to obtain promptly.
• New Graduate RNs encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient/family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
