Job summary

Mass Digital Health is seeking a New Graduate Extern to support the Med Surg 1st Floor unit on the Night Shift at West Chester Hospital. This role involves providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, specializing in cardiac/neuro patients.

Ideal candidates will have graduated from a nursing program recently and hold a BLS Certification. The extern will perform various responsibilities under RN supervision, including basic patient care and preparing for further nursing duties.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification (required).
• Prior experience as an unlicensed assistive personnel in Patient Care Services (preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing theories and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Receive precepted training to prepare for the Ohio Board of Nursing licensure exam.
• Perform non-nursing aspects of patient care as assigned by RN.
• Observe changes in patient condition and report to RN.

Skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills

Competence in basic patient-care tasks

Education

Graduate of a nursing program (ASN, BSN, or MSN) within the last 6 months
