Job summary

Mass Digital Health is looking to hire a New Graduate Extern for their Med Surg 1st Floor unit at West Chester Hospital. This position focuses on supporting patient care, especially in a fast-paced environment. Qualified individuals will have graduated within the last 6 months from a nursing program and possess a BLS Certification.

The extern will engage in various non-nursing duties, observe patient conditions, and contribute to a quality care environment, while preparing for future RN duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program (ASN, BSN, or MSN) within the last 6 months.
• BLS Certification (required).
• Prior experience as an unlicensed assistive personnel in Patient Care Services (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Receive precepted training and experience to prepare for RN duties.
• Perform non-nursing aspects of patient care as assigned.
• Observe changes in patient condition and report to RN.

Skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Basic computer skills

Knowledge of nursing theories and concepts
