Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Mechanic for our manufacturing facility in Saint Helens, OR. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing a range of automated systems, reading PLC data, and ensuring high-quality production.

You will inspect parts, communicate with the Maintenance Manager, and perform repairs on AC/DC motor controls while maintaining safe, efficient operations. The position includes growth opportunities within Amcor's team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance manufacturing or a combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Injection molding machine abilities preferred.
• Electrical background preferred.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• Dexterity with hand tools.
• Lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Able to sit, bend, climb, twist, crouch, reach and lower.
• Clear verbal and written communication to interpret work and assignments.
• Proficient with computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and replace electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.
• Read PLC information to diagnose complex problems.
• Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
• Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings and gears.
• Log all work performed and maintain clean work areas.
• Operate forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack safely.
• Follow lockout/tagout, electrical safety and PPE procedures.
