Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic for a 12-hour shift to inspect, repair, and optimize packaging machinery in a fast-paced facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, verify guarding and cycle times, and coordinate downtime reporting while supporting teammates and ensuring safety.

The role requires basic tools, plastics experience preferred, strong reading and math skills, and the ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have own set of basic tools.
• Prefer plastics industry experience.
• Stand/walk/lift for 12-hour shift continuously.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and work from technical manuals.
• Basic math applicable to maintenance work.
• Follow written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to work well with others and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machines for proper guarding at start of shift.
• Identify machine priority level at start of shift.
• Verify machines run correct cycle times.
• Ensure material loading not behind schedule after breaks.
• Check grinders and hydraulic oil level at shift start.
• Record downtime, issue parts, and assist others as needed.
• Make minor machine adjustments and repairs to fix quality issues.
• Perform timely PMs and accurately fill PM work orders.
• Changeover equipment and startup equipment as required.
• Follow Amcor safety policies and keep workspace clean.
