Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta is seeking an experienced Maternity & Pediatrics RN to join the Maternal/Child Health team at the Alfond Center for Health. This 30-hour-per-week night shift position covers Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Pediatrics, and Level II Nursery, with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation.

The role emphasizes planning, implementing, and evaluating care, collaboration across disciplines, patient education, and mentoring student nurses and new hires.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition; coordinates transfer, discharge, and referrals.
• Provides patient/family education appropriate to age and culture.
• Delegates care to ancillary staff; may precept students and new hires.
