Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Maternal/Child Health team at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The role is 36 hours per week on nights (7p-7a) with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations.

Requirements include active Maine RN licensure and at least 1 year of relevant RN experience in Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II, or Labor & Delivery.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure (or ability to obtain promptly).
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessment.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary team, including transfers and referrals.
• Educate patients and families appropriate to age and culture.
• Delegate patient care to ancillary staff and may precept students/new hires.
