MaineGeneral Health is hiring a Maternity & Pediatrics RN for 30 hours per week on night shifts (7p–7a) at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The role requires an active Maine RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery RN experience.

You’ll work a dynamic team in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Pediatrics and Level II Nursery. The position emphasizes collaboration, patient education, and safe, efficient care with weekend/holiday/on-call rotation;

Qualifications

  • Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion.
  • At least 1 year of Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery RN experience.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment with ability to work without close supervision.

Responsibilities

Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts one week, and two 12-hour shifts the next.**The Work:*** Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.* Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.* Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.* Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
