Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is hiring a Maternity & Pediatrics Registered Nurse (RN) for 30 hours per week on the night shift (7p-7a) at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The role supports Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Pediatrics, and the Level II Nursery, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts one week and two 12-hour shifts the next.

The position requires an active Maine RN license and at least 1 year of relevant RN experience; teamwork and critical thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion.
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, Level II or Labor & Delivery RN experience.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition.
