Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Material Handler for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri 12:00AM–8:00AM) with base pay of $23.46/hr plus a $0.75 shift differential in New Bedford, MA. The role supports safe, efficient material flow, including forklift operations, inventory control, and RF scanning across the plant.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 4-5 years of related experience, with lean manufacturing exposure as a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4-5 years' experience in the operation of a forklift truck/inventory control/knowledge in using RF Scanner.
• Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily safety inspection of forklift and work area.
• Communicates with the previous shift.
• Operates a forklift following safety rules and procedures.
• Follow the maximum load limits, understand the center of gravity and its effects on load limits, and how to secure loads.
• Transports finished goods and raw materials to the designated areas.
• Loading and Unloading trailers properly, following inspection of all floors and walls of all incoming trailers before loading.
• Secure trailer wheel chocks, install glad hand locks, trailer jacks when appropriate, and complete the AFC Loading Dock Safety Sign Off Sheet.
• Wrap steel returnable skids.
• Turn in all finished goods inventory tickets.
• Ensure the wrapping area is clean and organized.
• Performs housekeeping of the machine and area.
