Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods Distribution Center seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support the DC facility with PLCs, conveyors, and mechanical/electrical systems. The role emphasizes safety, PM adherence, and vendor collaboration to complete projects.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, report spare parts usage, and train junior technicians to elevate performance while partnering with outside vendors on timely project execution. Shift: Tue–Fri 5:30 p.m.–3:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2-year vocational/technical certificate, preferably in a mechanical or electrical application.
• 3–5 years of related experience.
• Experience with welding, burning, cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes, and PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC‑specific software packages (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and building-type drawings/schematics.
• Good safety awareness.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety requirements including OSHA standards with regard to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility.
• Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system.
• Apply expertise in PLCs, conveyors, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to ensure inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians to elevate their performance while troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects within the DCs safely and in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs.
