Job summary

Univertical in Indiana seeks a Maintenance Technician for a Sunday–Wednesday 5:00 PM–5:00 AM shift. Starting pay is $29.00/hr with a $1.50/hr night-shift differential, plus experienced guidance on the shift.

You will troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, perform preventive and reactive maintenance on mills, lathes, furnaces, and related equipment, and install/align motors, pumps, and conveyors. This role emphasizes safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment.
• Multi-craft background covering both mechanical and electrical work - hydraulics, pneumatics, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training a plus.
• Own hand tools required.
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on mills, lathes, welding equipment, furnaces, and more.
• Install, adjust, and align motors, pumps, conveyors, piping, and valves.
• Work with electrical systems up to 480V three-phase, with safety emphasis.
• Support fabrication needs like welding, cutting, grinding alongside fabricators.
• Communicate during shift changes and document repairs.
• Make sound decisions off-hours to keep the line running.
• Follow safety, PPE, and lockout/tagout procedures.
