Job summary

PPG is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Shelby, MI area. The role involves testing wiring, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting production with continuous improvement efforts. The shift is 3rd, from 10:00pm to 6:30am, Sunday evening through Saturday morning.

Pay ranges from $30.00 to $32.00 per hour for this position. Ideal candidates will have experience in plumbing, electrical systems, and systems technology, plus some computer skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing and electrical systems is required or preferred.
• Experience with systems technology and machine controls is desirable.
• Heating/cooling system experience is a plus.
• Some computer skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test wiring including hi-voltage 3-phase and machine control; pipe fitting, welding, tooling, and rack repair as needed.
• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions on equipment, machinery, and building systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule and Emaint guidelines.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform maintenance duties.
• Maintain building systems in good working order; promote 5-S standards for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
• Follow OHSA and corporate safety guidelines and assist in safety rectification and preventive measures.
• Assist production in continuous improvement activities.
