Job summary

PPG is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Shelby, MI for a 3rd shift role (10:00pm–6:30am). The position focuses on testing wiring, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to keep manufacturing lines safe and efficient.

You will work with hi-voltage systems, piping, welding, and rack repair as needed. The ideal candidate has experience in plumbing and electrical, familiarity with systems technology, and a willingness to train new personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience in Plumbing and Electrical.
• Experience working with Systems Technology.
• Heating and Cooling experience is preferred.
• Some computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test wiring including hi-voltage 3-phase and machine control, pipe fitting, welding, tooling, and rack repair when necessary.
• Troubleshooting and corrects malfunctions on equipment, machinery, and building as required.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance per schedule instructions and "Emaint".
• Uses appropriate tools and equipment in performance of maintenance duties.
• Maintains building systems in good working order.
• Promotes and utilizes 5-S standards for the line to improve efficiency, cleanliness and safety.
• Follows all OHSA and corporate safety guidelines and assist in safety concern rectification and preventative measures.
• Assist production in Continuous Improvement activities.
• Help with training of new personnel in production and maintenance.
