Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a night- shift Maintenance Technician in Sioux Falls, SD. Starting pay is $33.50 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential for 6 p.m.–6 a.m. with hours 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and full-time employment in a food manufacturing setting.

You will maintain conveyors, mixers, ovens and packaging machines, ensuring food safety and rapid repairs. Training, safety rules, and clear paperwork are required for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum of 0 to 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete work orders and enter the required paperwork into a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment like conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines to keep production running smooth and prevent breakdowns.
• Follow food safety rules when working around production areas, using the right cleaning procedures and food-grade materials to keep everything up to code.
• Handle emergency repairs when equipment breaks down during production, getting things back up and running as fast as possible to minimize downtime.
• Manage spare parts and tools inventory to make sure you've got what you need when equipment needs fixing or upgrading.
• Always working safely, following OSHA regulations and keeping your area clean and in line with company rules.
