Job summary

Novartis in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor to oversee a skilled team responsible for preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance of complex production and laboratory equipment in a regulated GMP environment.

The role supports 24x7 operations, ensures safety and quality, reviews work orders in CMMS, and trains technicians while coordinating across engineering and operations to keep the site compliant and running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on plant maintenance in a GMP environment.
• Experience supervising maintenance activities in production/manufacturing.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
• Experience in cleanroom or controlled environments with strict quality standards.
• Proficiency with CMMS, BMS, and MS Office.
• Ability to read P&ID, wiring diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of manufacturing and lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with minimal supervision.
• Interpret diagrams to plan maintenance.
• Support startup, commissioning, and 24x7 operations.
• Ensure 24x7 operation and safety standards.
• Document work orders in CMMS.
• Provide technical guidance and training to technicians.
• Support investigations and CAPAs.
