Job summary

Ecolab is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Joliet, IL facility. You will maintain plant equipment and infrastructure, participate in TPM tasks, and ensure safe, sustainable operations on nights (12-hour shifts).

Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and PLC-based systems, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in an industrial maintenance environment.
• 1 year of experience with electronic and PLC-based applications in an industrial environment.
• 1 year of experience with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
• No immigration sponsorship available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with SH&E standards and promote safe behavior.
• Proactively propose and implement improvements to work practices and product quality.
• Record non-conformances on equipment and report to Maintenance Team Leader.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and develop solutions to improve quality and equipment availability.
• Monitor effectiveness of maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability.
• Participate in TPM activities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Follow maintenance procedures and propose improvements; complete tasks including electrical, welding, plumbing, and PLC-related work.
• Complete planned and preventive maintenance tasks on-time and escalate issues to engineering.
• Propose new preventive maintenance tasks or updates and carry out repairs.
• Carry out safe and effective equipment repairs, including urgent breakdowns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
