Job summary

Rea Magnet Wire in Guilford, CT, seeks a Production Operator to run Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire production lines, manage staging, setup, testing and packaging, and uphold safety and ISO procedures. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing and machine operator experience required, along with a high school diploma or GED and solid mechanical aptitude with basic hand tools.

New start pay is $25.00/hour with $26.00/hour at 90 days and $26.75/hour at 1 year; 2nd shift 3:30 PM–11:30 PM with overtime

Qualifications

New Start Pay:

• $25.00/hour
• $26.00/hour at 90 days
• $26.75/hour at 1 year

Responsible for all aspects of producing Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire safely and efficiently including staging, set up, testing, packaging, documentation and the integrity of the equipment and infrastructure used in the process.

Main Responsibilities:

• Produce Aluminum Polymer Coated Magnet Wire
• Follow All Safety and ISO Procedures
• Ensure Products Meet Required Standards
• Maintain Clean, Organized Work Areas
• Comply with PPE and Safety Requirements
• Ability to train and support new employees by sharing job knowledge, demonstrating correct procedures, and reinforcing safety and quality standards until they achieve full qualification.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Follow production orders and other production documents
• Perform routine preventative machine maintenance
• Select and stage proper supplies and feed stock
• Continuously monitor production
• Maintain optimal efficiency and productivity
• Perform start-up and periodic quality testing
• Maintain safe machine operation
• Maintain production records
• Safely load and unload raw materials
• Maintain high level of maintenance

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 2nd Shift (3:30 pm to 11:30 pm)
• 8-Hour Shift
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Position Specifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of recent manufacturing experience.
• At least 2 years of recent Machine Operator experience.
• Knowledge of safety, distribution, and manufacturing best practices.
• High level of mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with basic hand tools and measuring devices, verified through work history and references.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference for candidates demonstrating recent, consistent work history.
• Preference for candidates with a strong work ethic, reliability, and a demonstrated commitment to professional growth in a manufacturing setting.
• Forklift certification is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Frequently uses hoist to push/pull reels weighing up to 3,200lbs
• Frequent standing, walking and bending
• Frequent use of arms below shoulder height; minimal use of arms above shoulder height
• Frequent reading and interpreting test data and visually inspecting wirefrequent lifting up to 25lbs

Work performed in a plant manufacturing environment. Slippery floors due to steel plates. Incumbent will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures <65 degrees and Heat >80 degrees. The environment is well lit; the noise level is often minimal but incumbent may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels
