Job summary

Madix, Inc in Alabama seeks a Machine Operator to support the assembly floor with typical machine shop and mold press operations. You will detect and report defective materials, maintain a clean work area, and perform preventative maintenance per PM charts.

The role requires at least 1 year of factory-related experience and training in safety, ESD awareness, and quality systems. Candidates should be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience.
• Experience as a Machine Operator.
• Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness and quality system awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor.
• Detect defective materials or questionable conditions and report to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines per PM charts.
• Operate milling, turning, drilling, tapping, deburring, molding and all bench operations and inspections.
• Be familiar with basic machine functions and be willing to accept supervision for setup.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and sit, climb or balance as required.

Essential Functions

• Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
• Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks:
• milling
• turning
• drilling
• taping
• de-burring
• molding
• all bench operations and inspections
• Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
• Frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Manufacturing plant environment with extreme fluctuation in temperature.
