Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time 36 hours per week. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care, assess needs, and implement plans of care with emphasis on safety and discharge planning.

Graduate from an accredited LPN program with current Iowa licensure is required; acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• One year of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates the patient’s needs and documents responses with the multidisciplinary team.
• Develops and implements the plan of care, including discharge planning, based on standards and patient needs.
• Provides learning opportunities and teaching plans for patient/family education.
• Communicates pertinent patient changes to colleagues and caregivers.
• Attends department meetings and supports scheduling and staffing needs.
• Manages resources and supports staffing across units as needed.
