Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time, day shift position. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

The role requires graduation from an accredited LPN program and current Iowa licensure. Shift is 12-hour days, with every other holiday and every third weekend, and opportunities for professional growth and education benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program required.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs

Responsibilities

• Assists in assessing and evaluating the patient’s needs and documents responses with the multidisciplinary team.
• Participates in plan of care development and discharge planning based on standards of nursing practice.
• Provides learning opportunities to meet patient/family education needs as directed by the RN.
• Adapts to changing healthcare environment and supports new technology and processes.
• Communicates pertinent patient changes to the RN and other caregivers.
• Attends departmental meetings and educational opportunities; maintains 80% attendance as required.
• Acts as steward for hospital resources and supports staffing needs with flexibility.
• Documents patient information accurately in the medical record in a timely manner
