Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse on a 12-hour night shift. This full-time position supports a multidisciplinary team and emphasizes evidence-based nursing.

You will assess patient needs, help develop care plans including discharge planning, educate patients and families, and participate in meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program is required.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of Iowa is required.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents patient/family responses to nursing interventions with the multidisciplinary team.
• Develops and implements the plan of care including discharge planning based on standards and policy.
• Provides learning opportunities to meet educational needs of patient/family.
• Adapts to changes in the healthcare environment and supports technology and process changes.
• Communicates pertinent patient changes to the RN and caregivers.
