Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Night shift, full-time schedule, and participation in a multidisciplinary team are required.

You will assess patient needs, participate in care planning and discharge planning, and support family education while adapting to a dynamic healthcare environment. Strong communication and flexibility are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN licensure in Iowa.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and educational needs and document responses.
• Develop and implement the plan of care including discharge planning.
• Provide or facilitate learning opportunities for patient/family education.
• Support changes in technology and processes; stay calm under stress.
• Communicate patient changes to the RN and multidisciplinary team.
• Attend department meetings and contribute to in-service education.
• Support staffing needs and handle supplies; be flexible with schedule.
• Document patient information accurately in medical records.
