Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for night shift at River North Correctional Center. The LPN will deliver evidence-based nursing care under RN supervision, screen sick calls, administer medications, provide first aid and BLS, and maintain medical records.

Candidates must hold a VA LPN license, have nursing fundamentals, and be able to work varied hours and locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess Virginia LPN license (unrestricted).
• Understanding of practical/general nursing care principles.

Responsibilities

• Screen sick calls and administer medications.
• Provide first aid and basic life support as needed.
• Maintain medical records and communicate with security and treatment staff.
