Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the night shift at Buckingham Correctional Center. The role delivers bedside nursing care under supervision, administers medications, and maintains accurate medical records.

A $3,500 sign-on bonus or up to $10K student loan repayment may be available for eligible new hires. LPN must hold Virginia license, BLS, and be prepared to work varied shifts within a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid Virginia LPN license or multi-state compact.
• Knowledge of practical/general nursing care.
• Ability to document, provide first aid, and follow orders.
• BLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care under RN supervision.
• Screen for sick calls, administer medications, and provide first aid.
• Maintain communication with security and treatment staff.
• Record information in the medical record.
• Assist provider in organizing a treatment plan.
