Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in Ohio.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, staff, and the public.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and long-term care regulations.
• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret routines for quality care.
• Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm for handling difficult residents.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and ideas into nursing practice.
• Ability to relate information about a resident’s condition.
• Must not pose a direct health or safety threat.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities by nursing assistants.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations governing the facility.
