Job summary

The State of Connecticut is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Southwest Connecticut Mental Health System in Bridgeport. The role covers the third shift, provides bedside nursing care, administers medications, documents care, and supports a high standards of patient safety.

Qualifications

• License to practice nursing in Connecticut or compact license.
• Experience in practical nursing and bedside care.
• Experience with infection control practices and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide general care and treatment per doctor's orders.
• Administer medications per order and document appropriately.
• Document medications using Kardex and standard forms.
• Transcribe doctors' medication orders and monitor patient conditions.
• Orient and train new staff on unit policies and standards of care.
