Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Middletown, CT, seeks a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for part-time night shifts 3:30pm-8:30pm. The LPN delivers nursing care in a warm, home-like setting and collaborates with a caring team to support residents’ health and independence.

Requirements include an LPN license and CPR certification, a state-approved program graduate, and 1–2 years of nursing experience, preferably with seniors. Comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current state license as an LPN and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program (per state requirements).
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
• Previous experience with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents residents’ status.
• Observes and reports significant changes in resident health to the care team per state regulations.
• Directs and supervises daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentors and guides Lead Resident Care Assistants in job aspects.
• Coordinates care needs with community providers via case management.
• Balances service demands with supporting resident independence.
• Prevents elder abuse and reports per state regulations.
• Responds to emergencies and activates backup when needed.
